Session 2:  10:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

2A. Ken Eller.  Setting and Pitching the Pipe.  A hands-on workshop to properly pitch both chanter and drones for today's instruments given the current trends in band pitch and chanter design. Bring your bagpipes, reeds, and a tuning meter if you have one. 

2B.  Bill Livingstone. Band Ensemble.  Bill will explain how the 78th Frasers get their great ensemble sound and provide ideas on how to improve ensemble at any grade level.  

2C. Jim McGillivray. Silver Medal Tunes. A session for players who can play the basic piobaireachd execution. Jim will cover a number of the Silver Medal tunes set for 2006.  These tunes are usually very suitable for younger amateur players.  Bring your practice chanter and  tape recorder.

2D. Ed Neigh.  Beginners' Teaching Program.  A session for teachers who will learn strategies, techniques, and exercises to teach beginners both technique and tunes.  Practice chanter required.  

2E. Pat Potter. Physiology of Bagpipes. Players will  learn how the body and bagpipes interact, and what happens with aging. 

2F. Jake Watson.  2/4 Marches.  A session for intermediate players and above who will learn the phrasing for 2/4 competition marches. Players must register in advance and will be sent music.  Practice chanter required.  Bring your tape recorder.

2G. Bob Worrall.  Introduction to Jigs.  A repeat of this class which sold out very quickly last time.  Players will get a solid grounding in this time signature by learning some simple two-parted jigs. Players must register in advance and will be sent music.  Practice chanter required.
