SESSION 4: 3:15 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.

4A.  Ken Eller. The Competitive March for Beginners.  A session for first-time competitors and their teachers to give them suggestions for tunes to submit and how to express them.  Practice chanter required.

4B.  Bill Livingstone.  Int./Sr. Piobaireachd.  This session is a continuation of 3B.    

4C. Jim McGillivray.  Phrasing Light Music.    A session for advanced beginners and intermediates.  Players will learn phrasing techniques for marches, strathspeys, and reels.  Players must register in advance and will be sent music.  Practice chanter required.

4D.  Ed Neigh.  Introduction to Piobaireachd.    An explanation of the nature of piobaireachd and work on a first tune.  Players will learn the structure of the tune and the necessary technique along with exercises to practise the technique.  Practice chanter required.

4F. Jake Watson. Setting a Pipe.  A practical session on setting up a bagpipe.  Instruments will be chosen to be set up from those players attending  and the principles of setting a pipe explained and demonstrated.  Bring your bagpipes.

4G. Bob Worrall. Simple Marches.  Players will learn to get the maximim music out of simple marches. Practice chanter required.
